Woman, your image is your asset.
That was the core lesson at a recent full-day workshop by Jill Lowe, held specially for more than 80 Chinese Church female members.
Jill is a renowned beauty consultant with her very own brand of cosmetics. Her programme on Image Asset Management is an image mastery class that teaches women how to choose makeup colours and styles that best suit each individual.
The event was organized by Chinese Church leader Joseph Ang, who explained that its main purpose was to help the ladies in Chinese Church increase their self-confidence and self-esteem.
“Such a class equips them to shine for God, be it at home, in church, or in the office,” he said.
The women, mostly in their 30s, all appeared to be having fun. Jill proved a very hands-on teacher; she made it an interactive class with easy-to-do beauty techniques that participants practised on the spot.

One workshop attendee, Li Kaiyue enthused, “Everything I learnt was very useful. If they hold this course one more time, I will come again. I will also bring my friends along.” Kaiyue realized, however, that this session was just the beginning: “I know that it needs practice and effort to see eventually which colours and style suit me.”
Jenny, an attendee from Hong Kong, was impacted by what she learnt about colours and style of clothes. She felt it focused a little heavily on makeup, and expressed that it would have been good to also learn about etiquette and good eating habits.
In fact, Jenny need not wait too long for that: interested women can sign up for another programme, the Advanced Winning Woman, which focuses on visual confidence, vocal advantage, verbal intelligence, and business etiquette and entertaining.
As Jill Lowe aptly put it in closing her session: “We need to look good for God, for our family, and for our future generation as well.”
