Examination fever strikes again! Students all over Singapore brace themselves for the year-end exams, gathering their willpower, along with textbooks and notes, and getting ready to study!
The typical Singapore home is filled with many distractions such as the television, computer games, nagging albeit concerned parents, noisy siblings and the ever-warm and welcoming bed. As such, many students venture out of their homes in search for a more conducive study environment.
The library, seemingly the ideal place to study, has limited seats when it comes to exam time. Cafes and coffee houses frown upon students that occupy an entire table with only one order of a beverage that is made to last a couple of hours.
With all that traveling from one location to another, the time could have well been spent covering another chapter of that chemistry textbook.
Here’s good news for all students: to help and encourage students during this stressful season, City Harvest Church is setting up four study rooms at Research University for Leadership at The Riverwalk. The library is opened every Tuesday to Friday, from 2pm to 10pm, while Lecture Rooms 1 and 4, as well as the Multi-Purpose Hall, will be available every Tuesday to Friday, from 2pm to 6pm. Our students now have a conducive environment they can study in, right in the heart of town.
In addition, City Harvest Education Centre (CHEC) also provided crash courses for students taking their GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ level examinations this year. Subjects offered include Elementary and Additional Mathematics, Principles of Accounting, as well as Pure and Combined Sciences. The crash courses were conducted every Monday to Thursday, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at CHEC.
With such support, students can focus on studying and scoring those A’s. Students, it’s time to hit the books — let the mugging begin!
