From 28 September to 3 October, Rev. Kong Hee and his team of five from City Harvest Church (CHC) went to Auckland, New Zealand, to minister to the members of City Impact Church.
Pastors Peter and Bev Mortlock are the Senior Pastors of City Impact Church and their vision is to preach the gospel, to see souls saved and to build up the body of Christ in strength and unity.
City Impact Church was founded in 1982 and the congregation numbers over 2,500 people. Pastors Peter and Bev also have satellite churches in Queenstown, Invercargill and Balclutha.
They strongly believe that the message of Christianity should be expressed in a vibrant and contemporary manner; they also encourage their members to be bold in proclaiming Jesus in their families, workplace and neighborhood.
In 2003, Pastors Peter and Bev visited CHC and were very inspired by the Church’s building in Jurong West. They went home and began to believe for their own building. Their auditorium bears many similarities to CHC’s Jurong West auditorium in terms of design and structure.
Impressively, their building was completed entirely by the members — from designing to laying the foundation and even physically building it! Missionary Joanna Teo commented that, “It’s nice to go to places further away like New Zealand, and see the same passion alive in other churches.”

In the five sessions that were held, Pastor Kong was the main speaker and he spoke on the Cultural Mandate — how to be relevant and effective in the marketplace. During the session with the businessmen, Pastor Kong also shared about how the business professionals can use creativity and innovation to excel in their careers.
He prayed for the youths and motivated them to excel in their respective campuses. The congregation was greatly inspired and encouraged to carry on with their vision in being a light to their nation.
