Everyone has talents placed in us the day we were born. All it takes is the right key; a right time and a right place to unlock the gifts deep within.
Talents are driven by dreams; the dream to do something or be somebody. Sadly, many dreams often have to give way to the harsh reality of circumstances, such as the need to secure a job that pays well enough for survival.
For the 18 performers who gathered on Sunday, 19 April 2009, this was a day to remember. A crowd of about 120 people gathered in a small building to watch these 18 live out their dream.
The Chinese Church hall of City Harvest Church (CHC) located at 1, Jurong West Street 91 was transformed into a mini concert hall. These talented songwriters and singers were given the stage to display their talent. Talented songwriters wrote songs that were showcased by budding singers who sang with heart and soul.
As the organizer, Chen Yan Fei, puts it, “the event is to allow others to see that members of the Chinese Church have unlimited possibilities. Many feel that it will be difficult for the aunties and uncles to sing. Today, with a platform, they are given the opportunity to perform.”
That church is not boring, was something these gifted ones were determine to prove. It is a place where potentials are discovered, dreams are fulfilled and lives are transformed
Supporters could be seen clapping, swaying and singing throughout the event. Even midway through the program, people were still walking in to listen to the enchanting music.

One of the members in the audience, Daniel Tang, a professional hairstylist, commented, “it is wonderful to see them, finally able to display their gifts and talents that have been buried inside.”
At the end of the event, several of the performers gathered on stage and led the congregation to sing the last song “希望的种子”; bringing a seed of hope to all who were present.
