For a company that started just over a year ago, CareerLink Consultancy has proved to be more than average human resource search firm. Joshua Lin, 29, director of CareerLink, says that when he started the firm, he wanted to do more than what other firms were already doing; he wanted to create a platform where he could directly influence more people.
Says Lin, “I used to work in an executive search firm, and it was during that time that I realized there were plenty of good opportunities in this field, and that I had the potential to expand this business and do more.”
Taking a step of faith, Lin started CareerLink Consultancy, which believes that “every candidate is a talent and can be an asset to any organization he or she serves”. Taking a personal approach to the job-matching experience for candidates, the agency interviews each candidate before his or her resume is sent to prospective employers. In this way, CareerLink creates better chances of a suitable job match, since, above paper qualifications, the match between an employer’s and employee’s character and personality.
Besides job-matching, CareerLink also provides candidates with tips on how to present themselves well in interviews, and how to write effective resumes.
Despite being a young company, CareerLink has already started to involve itself positively in the community, by sponsoring and lending its staff as volunteers for events like City Care’s “Christmas Wonderland” in December 2008, which benefited disadvantaged children from 16 beneficiary groups.
CareerLink Consultancy has shown itself a responsible and ethical firm by taking an active approach in caring for clients and candidates, as well as for the needy in society.
