Proline Premium Gifts is one company that has stayed true to owner Ooi Teng Kok’s core passion: To bring in goods that customers want. A small home business that began nearly 20 years ago, Ooi, 54, can hardly remember how it all started. He does recall, however, that the business of corporate gifts seemed lucrative enough at that time. “It seemed easy enough then,” says Ooi. “All you needed was to bring in the goods that people wanted, and find the customers to buy them.”
Now, Proline is run by a team of five employees, and they are depending mostly on roadshows and expos such as SME Fiesta 2009 to promote their goods and services. Apart from that, they thrive on referrals from satisfied customers who have engaged them in the past.
In this popular and saturated market, competition is always a challenge. In fact, Ooi first heard of SME Fiesta 2009 from a fellow friendly competitor, who also deals in corporate gifts.
But a positive Ooi says, “We provide different designs for our products which allows us to be unique.”
Proline prides itself on the “Art of Giving”, offering a wide range of business gifts for corporations to choose from.
