During the June school holidays, 400 youth who attended CK Zone’s Youth Camp not only had life-transforming encounters but also enjoyed the rare opportunity to break the Singapore Book of Records. On 11 June 2009, the youth attempted to create the world’s largest Youth Olympic Games (YOG) logo, with 2010 light sticks, completed at 2010 hours to signify the year of the YOG, 2010.
Preparation for this logo began at 4pm on the day. When completed, the logo measured 26.2 by 17.9 meters. President of the Singapore Book of Records, Ong Eng Huat, together with a YOG representative, was present to verify that a new record had been set.
Committee head Tan Chee Kiang, a pastor at City Harvest Church, says, “We wanted to do something exciting and new this year, and so the idea of doing something with the YOG logo came about. We decided to stir up excitement for the upcoming YOG and reach out to new friends with the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect.”
