“Dynamic” and “surreal” don’t even begin to capture the amosphere of the Spirit-filled second night of the CGI-Asia Conference 2010 with Dr. Phil Pringle.
The founder and senior minister of Christian City Church in Oxford Falls, Sydney and founder and president of Christian City Church International’s movement of churches capped off an eventful day at the Conference, releasing an anointing for the pastors from Northern and Southeast Asia.
The C3 band, fronted by Pringle’s son, Joe, opened the meeting with a rocked out praise and worship session. They led the congregations in songs like “Send Down Your Love”, “My Best Life” and “Today”, and the people worshiped with all their hearts.
Dr. John Avanzini followed with a powerful offering message, which centered around the Corinthian church that gave beyond their means, and how God came through for them. Avanzini, renowned for his revolutionary teachings on faith and prosperity, also jokingly observed how people loved most other forms of ministering from their church or leaders, but bristled when challenged to give generous offerings.
Following Avanzini, Lim Jia Le, a member under CHC zone supervisor Lim Meng Chin, came up on stage to share his powerful testimony. Lim was a victim of substance abuse, and was slipping into a life of crime as a teenager. God intervened and he came to know Meng Chin, who started to draw him into church, and showed genuine care and concern for him and his family. Touched by the love of the church members he got to know, Lim found motivation to turn his life around, and he eventually gave his life to Christ.
Now, all warmed up, the congregation greeted Pringle with loud applause as he stepped on stage. The preacher, known for his inspiring sermons and artistic flair, introduced wife Christine and daughter Rebekah to the conference attendees. The banter shared by the Pringles had the audience in stitches, especially when Rebekah called her parents Pastor Phil and Pastor Chris, much to their astonishment.
Pringle proceeded to move in a completely different direction than his first session, in which he taught on the power of prayer as he painted on stage.
As the C3 Band segued into an anointed worship song, “Holy”, Pringle walked the stage and waited on the Spirit. He dedicated the session to praying for the different nations. He started to call up pastors from different nations. All across the auditorium, people began to run up to the stage, and Pringle laid hands on them and prayed over them for strength and growth in their churches.
Pringle called up all Chinese pastors to come on the stage first, followed by pastors from India, pastors from Pakistan and Vietnam and Cambodia.
The pastor, who moves in a powerful prophetic anointing, prayed over some of them, singling out particularly pastors to pray and prophesy over. One Indian pastor was asked the size of his congregation, and he replied, “60”. Pringle prayed over him and challenged him to believe for 6,000.
In ending the session, Pringle invited the American preachers present to go up on stage, while he directed the rest of the congregation to pray for the churches in the USA to catch the passion and power of God once again. It was a sight to see such great and anointed men of God as Dr. Casey Treat, senior minister of Christian Faith Center and Dr. John Avanzini of Avanzini Ministries crying out to God for a fresh anointing and fire of God for America.
The evening kept the attendees in eager expectation for what amazing things God would do over the next few days of the conference.
