According to the Childhood Cancer Registry, 1,103 children in Singapore were diagnosed with cancer between 1997 and 2005, with more than half below the age of five.
For many of these children who have to go through chemotherapy and other medical treatments, happy days are hard to come by.
Mummy blogger, Daphne Ling, of Mother, Inc. is organizing a mini carnival at Hort Park for 30 children fighting cancer. The Happee Day carnival will be held at Hort Park on Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m, featuring mascots, balloon sculpting, face painting, magic shows, a truckload of balloons and tonnes of more cool stuff. It is a simple gesture of Ling and others seeking to bring a little joy and give these children a reason to smile.
If you would like to play a part in helping these children, you can do so by donating to the Children’s Cancer Foundation. Simply log on to www.ccf.org.sg to make your donation which will go toward providing financial aid to families who struggle with the burden of chemotherapy treatments and surgery.
Make it a Happee Day for these dear ones.
