Get up close to the threads that once adorned famous figures including Princess Diana, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Julia Roberts and Elizabeth Taylor at a curated exhibition titled Valentino, Retrospective: Past/Present/Future.
Capping a glorious 50-year career by celebrated Italian haute couture designer Valentino Garavani (better known as Valentino), who retired in January 2008, the exhibition will feature 100 exquisite haute couture pieces showcasing the designer’s trademark touches—the creative use of volume, line and texture, the recurring use of motifs such as geometric patterns, graphic prints, pleats, bows and flounces, as well as the distinctive palette of black, white and his signature “Valentino Red.” Above all, the couturier is famed for his ability to intelligently interpret current fashion trends while remaining faithful to his timeless concept of elegance.

The collection dates back from Valentino’s early designs to present-day creations by the two creative directors who succeeded him, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. Visitors will also get to see dresses from his last collection in January 2008.
Having traveled for the first time to Australia earlier this year in August, this exhibition will be Valentino’s first ever retrospective in Asia.
Valentino, Retrospective: Past/Present/Future is held at Resorts World Sentosa from Dec. 15, 2010 to Jan. 31, 2011. Log on to www.rwsentosa.com for ticketing details.
