Singapore saw some awesome concerts this year, with mega-stars flying down to perform on local ground. With the opening of new entertainment venues such as Sands Theater at Marina Bay Sands and Festive Grand Theater at Resorts World Sentosa, things will only get bigger next year—here are some headlining acts of 2010.
The recent ZoukOut 2010 pulled in over 30,000 party-goers, thanks in major part to the lineup of trance kings DJ Tiesto and David Guetta, so to say things went a little crazy would be an understatement. If you’ve gone for one ZoukOut, you’d know that this 10th party was bigger, better and much more insanely fun—even with the price hike.

The undisputed queen of Cantopop blew her fans away during her two concerts here in Singapore with characteristically flamboyant costumes changes, great dance moves and favorites from her older albums—her rendition of English anthems like “I Will Survive” and “Conga” were definite highlights.
SingFest
Yes, the lineup, featuring international superstars like Katy Perry, Kanye West, Tokio Hotel and Smashing Pumpkins, was stellar. The only dampener was that despite the name SingFest, Singaporean acts did not get as much exposure—some groups, like Sixx, barely had the opportunity to perform. In fact, many of those who were there for the local acts were probably there to “chope” a seat for the later acts.
Jay Chou
Remember the tidal wave of excitement the news of his concert brought (not to mention the crashing of the Sistic portals when sales of the ticket were opened)? The seats were sold out almost immediately, and the concert was big, in every way possible—it kicked off with a giant holographic image of the man himself to begin with. Self-absorbed? Probably. But when you’re one of the biggest stars in the world, there’s no such thing as too much self-glorification.
