Enter this charity run and help raise funds for children in need.
What are you doing on March 12? Why not sign up for a fun charity run (5km or 10km) with your friends or family, and help 300 needy kids while you get some much-needed exercise and well-deserved bonding time?
Organized by Touch Young Arrows, a service of TOUCH Community Services, Run & Raisin’ 2011 aims to raise S$100,000 from sign-ups (run registration is S$25 for 5km and S$30 for 10km, and group discounts apply), as well as sale from carnival coupons.
TYA also hopes to raise awareness of its work in the community. The beneficiaries are children aged 6 to 12 from single parent or low-income families. They receive tuition at 12 TYA clubs islandwide every Saturday, and participate in sports and recreational activities that build up leadership qualities and positive character traits. TYA also helps their clients to strengthen parent-child relationships.
Run & Raisin’ happens at East Coast Park, Area E2 (near the food center). The run is followed by a carnival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Registration closes Monday, Feb. 21, 2011.
