Four of Hong Kong TV’s most recognizable faces traded in their acting chops to exercise their vocal acrobatics in Singapore recently.

For Hong Kong drama fans, it was a night of getting up close with their small screen idols—Bosco Wong, 30, Moses Chan, 39, Ron Ng, 31, and Kevin Cheng, 41.
It was the second time the four Hong Kong actors came together after last year’s concert at Genting, Malaysia. On April 30, they performed at the Resorts World Convention Centre to an almost sold-out crowd comprising both the young and old. Fans were seen holding up posters and banners while cheering enthusiastically for their favorite actor before the show started.
The show kicked off with the lighting up of a large LED screen in the middle of the stage. The four stars were then elevated to the stage from below, all dressed in black.
They opened the show with a medley of Alan Tam songs, accompanied by eight dancers. As they sang their opening song, they threw posters to the crowd, causing a slight ruckus as fans ran forward in response; even those who were sitting at the back sections ran all the way to the front, hoping to get a copy.
After performing their first medley together, they took turns to sing their individual songs and interact with fans. First in the lineup was Moses Chan, who sang a few English songs. It was no show-stopping act, but it was evident that he put in his best effort, and for that, his fans adored him. Ron Ng, who had the most stage experience, delivered a slick dance performance as he sang a fast number. Despite having entered the acting scene at a later date, he was no less popular than the other three, judging from the raucous cheers that erupted when he gave his performance.
Bosco Wong, who released his second album last June, came on stage. If one thing was clear, it was that Wong had the most generous fanbase—the star was inundated with gifts from his adoring fans. Delivering a few fast-paced hits, he elevated the atmosphere to a higher level. As he sang a Cantonese song, one lucky girl was plucked out from the crowd and brought on stage—Wong then held her hand and sang to her. He also presented her with a Minnie Mouse soft toy, eliciting more than a few high-pitched squeals from the swooning crowd.
The last to perform was actor-singer Kevin Cheng, who between 1993 and 2006 had released six albums. Singing mainly theme songs from different drama series which he had starred in, there was a sense of familiarity in the air as fans no doubt reminisced about the corresponding shows.
Bringing the concert to an end, the quadruplet sang two more songs in response to the crowd’s cheers for an encore, singing “Jin Ge Jin Qu,” a 32-song Cantonese and Mandarin song medley before ending with an upbeat “La La La.” The verdict? Their charisma and good looks won them many supporters, but still, nothing beats seeing them in their element—on television.
