The Habitat-Barclays Bare Your Sole is back again this year. The barefoot walk for charity is an initiative to create awareness of the plight of the needy in developing countries and disaster-stricken areas. Many of the adults and children living in these dire conditions have no proper food, clothing and footwear—Bare Your Sole aims to give participants a glimpse into the lives of the underprivileged and the chance to empathize with them.
Organized by Habitat For Humanity Singapore and Barclays, the walk aims to raise funds for projects to improve the living conditions of the poor by building homes for them.
HFHS is a non-profit organization with a goal to eliminate poverty housing all over the world. With the help of the homeowners themselves, volunteers and the funds they raise, HFHS provides needy families with a decent place to live in.
The Bare Your Sole charity walk will be held on June 18 at Gardens By The Bay East, Tanjong Rhu. Flag off time is at 9 a.m. It will be a fun-filled event for the whole family, with food, music, games and entertainment running from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
