C3 Oxford Falls’ band outdoes itself with its latest praise and worship album.

If there’s word to describe the music that comes out from C3 Oxford Falls, it is “exuberant”, and A Thousand Hallelujahs is absolutely so. Recorded live at Presence Conference 2011, it features 11 songs led by Julian McGruther, Linda Bax, Dan Korocz, Ryan Smith and Joel Wardle.
Like previous albums such as For Your Glory, it just gets better with each play. While high energy Christian rock is the overriding treatment here, it is diversified in terms of melody and lyrics, making for a well-textured listen. The title track, “A Thousand Hallelujahs” will compel listeners to jump and shout with unbridled joy unto God, kick-starting an aural journey of exultation, joy and intimacy. There is some fine instrumentation peppered throughout the album—catch violinist Lyn Buyn adding a touch of magic to the track “Holy Spirit”, melding orchestral sensibility with a plead to total dependence on the Holy Spirit. “I Hear You Calling” lyricizes the persistent knocking of Jesus on the door of our hearts, a reminder to be entirely surrendered to Him.
Guest appearances by four-time Latin Grammy Award-winning singer and pastor Marcos Witt on the track “Holy” and double Dove Award-winning singer-songwriter Kari Jobe singing the deeply personal “You Are For Me” are bonuses. Most of all, A Thousand Hallelujahs offers a full worship experience, from unabashed praise to reflective, tender moments—a fail-proof Christmas gift.
