City Harvest Church member Chew Eng Han had applied for the admission of Queen’s Counsel Mr Jonathan Caplan from the UK to represent him in the upcoming trial involving six CHC leaders and members.
The hearing for his application happened on Monday, March 4, at the Court of Appeals in the high court. Yesterday (March 5) at noon, Justice V.K. Rajah delivered his verdict rejecting Chew’s application for a QC, citing, among other reasons, that insufficient documentation had been presented.
Speaking after the verdict, a calm Chew told City News, “I feel okay. God’s will be done.”
“I’m confident God will ensure I have very good representation during the trial.”
