Servathon returns for a third time! Join CityCare to serve in the 21-hour non-stop community service marathon.
Singaporeans love a good marathon, especially one with a good cause. Servathon, a 21-hour community service marathon, blends the adrenaline rush of a marathon with the spirit of doing good.
The community service marathon was started in 2012 by CityCare, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to inspire people to serve the community through active volunteerism. Its aim is to serve a two-fold purpose: to promote volunteerism across all age groups and to raise awareness of the various needs in society.
This year, Servathon 2014: Race for Change aims to promote interaction between the public and the under-served communities in Singapore. The marathon kick-starts with Love Invasion, where 100 volunteer cyclists will cycle overnight to deliver inspiration cards to 10,000 households. The next day, the marathon continues with Insta-Race photo trail with the intellectually challenged, Fam-tastic Race station games with single-parent and low-income families, Sports-on-Wheels sports challenge with the physically challenged, and Silent Race dragon boat challenge with the hearing impaired; volunteers will team with the disadvantaged to participate in each of the races. The day ends with a celebration party where all the volunteers gather for a mini-party.
Join the Servathon 2014: Race for Change and make a difference to the under-served communities in Singapore. You may participate in one or more of the five community projects at various locations across the island.
The registration fee for one race is $20, $30 for two races and if you were to participate in three or more races, the registration fee is capped at $40 per volunteer. The closing date for registration for Servathon 2014 is 1 December 2014, 2359hrs.
