President of the Daystar Television Network, Marcus Lamb came to preach at City Harvest Church last weekend, and encouraged members to pursue their dreams.
“Your dream may be dead or dormant, but I am going to come in agreement with you, to see your dreams come to pass,” declared evangelist Marcus Lamb at City Harvest Church on July 15 and 16. The service was recorded for broadcast on Daystar.
Lamb is the president of Daystar Television Network and a friend of CHC. On his last visit to the church in November 2014, he preached a message titled “How to Overcome Trouble” which ministered powerfully to the church at the time. This time, he brought yet another uplifting sermon that greatly encouraged the congregation.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 says, “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end, it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Quoting this verse, Lamb proclaimed that there are world-shakers and history makers in the audience, champions for Christ destined to do great things in His name.
“Great it is to dream the dream when you stand in youth by the starry stream, but a greater thing is to fight life through and say, in the end, the dream was true,” said Lamb quoting John Osteen, founder of Lakewood Church. He prophesied that the day was a divine appointment for the congregation and that they were pregnant with destiny.
“God has destined you for greatness, and great things are about to happen in your lives, some of you may even be blessed with multi-million dollar ideas and opportunities during the service,” he said.
Lamb brought up the story of Joseph. He reminded the church that like Joseph, difficult times may come, but that does not mean God has forgotten His people.
“Sometimes we need to fight the good fight of faith for our dreams,” Lamb said. “God can qualify the unqualified and even the disqualified. That means all of us have the opportunity to have the blessings of God. Man can hinder the will of God for our lives because He gave us free will. But God has a plan B that is just as good as, or even better than plan A.”
With this, he shared a few pointers on not giving up on dreams.
WINNERS DON’T QUIT, QUITTERS WON’T WIN
“If you don’t quit, the devil can’t win. If you don’t give up, you can’t be defeated,” said Lamb. He added that the power of perseverance is key in contributing to his successes in marriage and ministry.
“It is not whether we get knocked down—it’s whether we get back up again.”
He reminded the church that they need to take their eyes off themselves and look to the Lord, seeing that He does not look at success the way human do. He judges His people by their faithfulness, not by their numbers, Lamb said.
TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME
Romans 8:14 says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
“We need to be led by the Holy Spirit every day and these days will add up together and bring us into God’s ultimate will for our lives,” he explained.
Many people want God to reveal His will for their lives, but Lamb warned, “If God were to show you His will for your life, two things might happen. It might be so big that you will be too fearful to go for the dream. On the other hand, you might get so excited that you run ahead of God and His time.”
Lamb encouraged the congregation to spend time planning their dreams daily. “Write your visions down so you can run with them,” he urged the church. “We need to visualize a plan, for if we fail to plan, we plan to fail.”
YOUR ATTITUDE WILL DETERMINE YOUR ALTITUDE
Lamb quoted from The Winning Attitude by John C Maxwell: “Its roots are inward but its fruit is outward. Attitude is either your best friend or your worst enemy. Attitude is more honest and more consistent than our words. Attitude is the librarian of our past, the speaker of our present and the prophet of our future.”
Lamb urged the congregation to have an attitude of passion. “Passion is the attitude that will fuel your dreams. God will not use our past to determine our future. So step out of your past and into your future!”
He also encouraged those who felt inadequate about their dreams by reminding them that God is their source. His anointing will help them fulfill the dream.
“How do you know whether your dream is from God?” asked Lamb. “If you think that you cannot accomplish your dreams by yourself, it is probably from God. God wants us to depend on Him constantly. We don’t have to depend on our own strength.”
BE PREPARED TO TAKE RISKS ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE A CLEAR WORD FROM GOD
“One word from God can change your life forever,” Lamb shared as he related his testimony about receiving the Word to start Daystar.
“When God is on your side, God is faithful and your dream will come to pass. However, the Word needs to be from God for some are called and some are sent, others just packed up and went,” he said. “Do not hear ‘preach’ when you are meant to teach.”
TO SEE YOUR DREAM COME TRUE YOU HAVE TO STAND ON THE WORD OF GOD
Lamb told the congregation how God brought him through lawsuits and construction accidents to where he is today. He started out in an office that was nothing but a glorified closet, yet today, Daystar is the top Christian television network in the world. He stood testament to the fact that when God is on your side, God will be faithful to see that your dream come to pass.
“Find a word for yourself,” said Lamb in conclusion. “Write it down on the tablets of your heart. Stand on the promises from the Word of God for when God guides, He provides.”
