CGI-Asia Conference 2010 gathered believers from across 70 nations for a powerful week of spiritual impact.

Church Growth International and Asia Conference 2010, possibly the most highly-anticipated Christian event of the year—kicked off on May 26 at the Singapore Expo. Co-hosted by David Yonggi Cho from Yoido Full Gospel Church in South Korea, and Kong Hee from City Harvest Church, Singapore, this conference marks the first time that Church Growth International is collaborating with City Harvest Church. The conference, which ends tonight, saw over 25,000 registrants from 2,086 churches in 70 nations.
This week saw some of the world’s most powerful preachers gathered in one place: Richard Bernal, A.R. Bernard, Reinhard Bonnke, Ken Eldred, Kim Sung-Hae, Lee Young-Hoon, Steve Munsey, Phil and Christine Pringle, David Sumrall, Robb Thompson, Casey Treat and many more. From Cho’s message of living in the power of the Holy Spirit in the Fourth Dimension, to Kong’s exhortation to transform society into the world God created it to be, it has been a week of building spiritual giants in Asia.
At the opening session, Cho presented Kong with a traditional Korean crown. “Now you can call him ‘King Kong’,” quipped Dr. Paul Kim, executive director of CGI. Cho also presented Kong with a plaque commemorating the collaboration of CGI and Asia Conference.
The conference also strengthened believers as effective witnesses in society. The preaching sessions and electives were aimed at developing a Christian’s spirit, soul and body, encouraging delegates to excel in every aspect of their lives. As they flourish, they become increasingly equipped to share the love of God beyond the four walls of the church, to all of Asia and the world.
This message could not have been better reinforced than through the Parade of Nations during the morning session, and the Parade of Ministries that night.
In the Parade of Nations, 26 Asian nations were represented by individuals dressed in their national costumes, waving their national flags. Set to the songs from CHC’s new album Reign, the parade proclaimed the lordship of Jesus over Asia. The evening session opened with a stunning visual display of colors, performances, multimedia presentations, laser shows, fireworks and the exciting Parade of Ministries, a showcase of CHC’s key ministries in the House of God where purpose and meaning are found.
The opening day set all hearts on fire for God, and got the delegates ready for what proved to be a very busy and exciting week.
