Koh Wen Yao, 24, a pastry chef, took part in this year’s MediaCorp Subaru Impreza Challenge 2010—The Asia Face-Off at Ngee Ann City. Standing for 65 hours, he was among the last 15 contestants left standing.
The winner was Aloysius Lim, 45, a technician who withstood 75 hours and 17 minutes to walk away with a Subaru Impreza 2.5 MT sedan worth S$98,800.
This annual competition is one of the most popular events in Singapore, garnering loads of local media attention and publicity. It draws 300 to 400 participants a year, each hoping to claim the winning prize by literally holding on to the car for the longest time possible.
