City Harvest Church members have every reason to look forward to the church-wide Bible study on the book of Ezekiel.

Beginning in March this year, some 6,000 City Harvesters made their way to Jurong West to attend a church-wide Bible study taught by the church’s very own senior pastor and founder, Kong Hee. The Bible study is based on the book of Ezekiel [written between 593 and 565 B.C.], one of the Old Testament prophets whom God sent to prophecy to the children of Israel of impending doom.
On why he chose to teach on this particular book of the Bible, Kong explained to his congregation during the first of five lessons, “The book of Ezekiel is a book very few Christians read; it is often neglected.” Kong added later that the book of Ezekiel contains many “spiritual truths that apply to our day and time in which we live. Therefore, the study of Ezekiel has great relevance to our current time period.”
The book of Ezekiel is made up of four parts: Prophecy against Judah (Ez. 1 – 24); Prophecy against foreign nations (Ez. 25 – 32); Restoration of Israel (Ez. 25 – 32); and The Millennium Temple (Ez. 40-48). Having already completed parts 1 and 2 in March and April, Kong will continue the rest of the sessions in the months of May, June and July.
Touching on topics such as the grace and redemption of Christ, end-time prophecies, God’s judgment and mercy, and more, the Bible study has moved many of the CHC members on a deep spiritual level (see comments from members below).
Look out for the next session on the book of Ezekiel happening in June. A complete audio CD album will be launched by Attributes Pte Ltd two weeks after the final session in July.

“Ezekiel is a book full of imagery and prophecies through which we can know God’s love for Israel and for the church. Studying this book enables us to understand God more and more.”
Teo Kim Kim

“[It’s about] engaging the world with love … without becoming indifferent to the sins of the world.”
Alan Chan

“Our own prayer time is more important than what we acomplish at work, in ministry, in finance, fame and personal achievements.”
Jenny Sim

“In life, we may cross the line and never be able to turn back from the choices we make; whenever we have the opportunity to receive God’s blessings, we must cherish it.
Karen Yeow
AVP, wealth management
“We can only partake of God’s holiness when we endure the dealings of God. How we respond to the dealings of God in our lives will determine our eternal position with God in heaven.”
Mabel Yong
Homemaker
“I am touched by God’s love as seen in the life of Hosea the prophet; that no matter how unfaithful we are, or what state of life we’re in, as long as we repent and turn back to God, He will receive us.”
Joyce Tan
Medical secretary
“Even though God knew that Israel would be hardened in their hearts, and faithless to Him, He chose to remain faithful and even sent His prophets to speak to them. This speaks to me about the need to keep my heart soft and pliable toward God, no matter how long I’ve been a Christian … never to take His love and grace for granted.”
Jimmy Oh
CG animator
“It was very timely because I was reading the book of Ezekiel when Pastor announced that he will be doing a Bible Study on this. There’s no better way than to let Pastor Kong guide me through it.”
John Lynn
Nutritionist
“My heart is filled with gratitude as I am reminded of a long difficult trial I experienced a few years ago. I am encouraged by the goodness of God’s great love all over again.”
Jodie Chin

“God sees everything we do, even things which are wrong. He will take the time needed to lead us back; to make us better and stronger Christians.”
Zerus Lin

“The study of Ezekiel has strengthened my faith by presenting the truths of the Bible in a more in-depth way, backed by historical details.”
Kate Tan
Senior medical representative
“The book of Ezekiel made me realize that we should never take God’s blessing, love, mercy and grace for granted. It clearly redirected me to do a lot of soul searching, and find the path I need to take.”
June Ong
Account manager
“God is gracious and merciful, but we still need to abide in love in our hearts and deeds. It has taught me to go back to the basics once again; to be pure at heart.”
Adrian Cheung

“What touched me most was seeing how God moved among His people in the past and even now in the present, how He never forgets the promises He gives to His people. It reminds us to always go back to our first love—God—despite our busy schedules and other hindrances.”
