SINGAPORE, 19 NOVEMBER 2008 — Bliss Garden restaurant at the Singapore Expo became a melting pot on 19 November 2008 as over 300 of our affiliate church leaders from nine countries gathered for a sumptuous meal and fruitful fellowship. From 10.30am, the restaurant had been bustling with many of the church leaders fellowshipping and sharing their breakthroughs.
While enjoying the delicacies, they watched Kong Hee’s documentary video on the contemporary and creative outreach that Taipei New Life Church had this year.
The warm atmosphere at the luncheon made the fellowship seem more like an intimate family reunion. During the lunch, Kong invited Wayne and Angel Chang from Hsin Tien Covenant Church to the stage to dedicate their baby boy, Eadin, to the Lord.
Following that, Kong invited Jose and Hannah Carol from Jakarta Praise Community Church to the stage to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. They expressed, “We are greatly honored to have our wedding anniversary celebrated today and we feel privileged to be part of what City Harvest Church is doing in Asia.”
There was special mention of several pastors for their exemplary contributions both in the church as well as the marketplace. Abraham Ku from Taipei New Life Church was commended for being an example of a relevant and contemporary church and Dr Janto Semkoputera, the Senior Pastor of GBI Pekan Raya Jakarta, was mentioned for his successful medical career and ministry.

Kong then proceeded with sharing City Harvest’s organizational structure and Human Resource system. He stressed that formal training would be crucial for the next generation of church leaders so they would be well-equipped to face the challenges of ministry.
The leaders left the luncheon with great anticipation for what was to come in this Asia Conference. Jenny Hung, pastor from Taipei New Life Church remarked, “Breakthrough always comes from inside out. I am looking forward to be refreshed and recharged in this Asia Conference.”
