In 1996, Markus Caviezel set out to create the most comfortable pair of spectacles in the world. After seven years of research and design, the first collection of Swissflex spectacles, Eyephorics, was introduced to the eyewear market.
Weighing just 2.5g, putting on a pair of Swissflex may momentarily give you the unfamiliar feeling of not wearing anything, but despite being lightweight, the eyewear doesn’t slip off when the wearer bends over—the wire-like bending properties of the material allows the spectacles to fit comfortably around the wearers’ faces without sliding or adding pressure to the temples. This also prevents headaches caused by tightness of spectacles. The additional feature of eight choices of non-adjustable nose pads ensures that the spectacles sit firmly on different nose shapes, providing extra grip.
Made of high performance polymer and micro-crystalline polyamide, the Swissflex range is also heat-resistant and flexible while maintaining sufficient rigidity.
One of the best features of the Swissflex range is the high customizability factor—besides the typical choices of going full frame, half-frame or rim-less, users can mix and match the different parts of the spectacles to get the best fit, from the temples to the hinges, bridges and pins. Additionally, there are more than 70 colors and styles to choose from.
Today, there are a total of 11 collections under Swissflex’s brand, available in more than 30 countries all around the world. Priced from S$320, Swissflex can be found in most leading optical stores in Singapore.
