Evangelist Rev. Dr. Stephen Ernest Goh , 59, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 29, 2013, almost a year after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
Over the last 20 years, Goh had ministered at churches and conferences in Australia, China, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Israel, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and the United States. Near-death experiences including plane crashes, shooting incidents and boating mishaps did not deter him from preaching the Gospel. God worked powerful miracle healings and various other manifestations of the Holy Spirit at his meetings.
Through his ministry, “many have come to know that the power of God is real,” says his wife, Angela. “On most of the trips, miracles happen. He made the touch of God very accessible to those in need of it.”
Besides ministering actively overseas, he was also the Senior Overseer of Global Harvest Network and Assemblies here in Singapore.
His son, Joshua, 20, remembers him as a father who balanced discipline with love. “Looking back, I thank God for his discipline, or I would have been a very different person today. He never punished me out of anger. The way he loved me is a reflection of how our heavenly Father loves us.”
City Harvest’s pastors and members grieve together with the Goh family at this difficult time.
