Hundreds came to City Harvest Church’s miracle service to receive their healing.

The presence of God descended upon Suntec Singapore’s Hall 606 as Kong Hee, City Harvest Church’s senior pastor, led the congregation in worship with the age-old hymn “Holy Spirit Thou Art Welcome”, followed by “Hallelujah”. It was the church’s miracle service and hundreds had come with different needs for healing.
Many had tears streaming down their face the moment Kong uttered the first words of the song: Holy Spirit. In the hall packed with believers, some had their hands lifted high, others had theirs clapsed tightly together, but everyone was deep in prayer, worshiping the God who had given them the promise of healing in His word.
At the start of the one and a half hour service, held on Dec. 7, Kong had shared a word to prepare the hearts of the attendees to receive their miracle.
“Confession is powerful,” the senior pastor said. He shared his own experience of being sick with asthma bronchitis when he was a child. Kong recalled being in and out of hospital, and being given all sorts of English and Chinese medicine.
“The medicine bottles usually came with many instructions,” he recalled. “God, too, has His instructions written in the Bible that will bring ‘health to all our flesh’.”
Proverbs 4:20-22 says, “My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.”
Kong emphasized that the Bible says these instructions are “life to those who find them”. This means that one must do more than read the Bible casually; one is to receive the promise of God in such a way that it becomes medicine to his sickness.
The instructions are stated clearly in verse 20 and 21:
1) “Give attention to My words”: Believing
“You must believe what the Bible say especially when it comes to healing,” Kong encouraged the room. “There are many promises in the Bible,” he said while reading a few from Exodus 15:26, Psalms 103:2-3, Acts 10:38 and 3 John 2.
To “give attention” to God’s word means to use both ears to listen to God’s promises–to give His word full, undivided attention–instead of listening to His word with one ear and listening to the doubts and fears of the world with the other ear.
“We must choose to fully believe in the healing promises of God. Even when it looks bad, try your best to have faith,” Kong encouraged.
2) “Incline your ears to My saying”: Speaking
Romans 10:17 says “faith comes by hearing the Word of God”. After believing, the next thing to do is to confess the word of God. The more your ears hear, the more your heart will believe.
Kong shared an example of a lady in Dr. Yonggi Cho’s church. She was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus and was told that she would die soon. Her faith rose when she heard the promises of healing in sermons she had requested. She even encouraged the doc and nurses who had lost all hope. She wrote out “By His stripes, I’m healed” 10,000 times; it took her days, but a few weeks later, she was completely healed!
3) “Do not let them depart from your eyes”: Visualizing
“If you can’t walk, visualize yourself walking. Your imagination is a very powerful tool for healing.”
Kong said that for two years, he read the Bible every day confessing, “By Your stripes, I’m healed”; even when he was wheezing, he would continue to hold fast to the promise of God. He kept visualizing the day he would be healthy. For the past 30 years, he has not had a single asthma attack; he has been totally healed.
4) “Keep them in the midst of your heart”: Thinking
“Think of the promises, think of yourself being well! Even when the reports are bad, let the promises of God penetrate your heart.”
Doctors often say that when cancer goes into the bone marrows and joints, there is no more hope. The good news is, the word of God can penetrate places where no medicine can reach.
Kong ended the sermon encouraging the members to keep believing, keep confessing, keep visualizing and keep thinking of the healing process.
“Like the instruction on the medicine bottle, you’ll need to do it at least three to four times a day. Sometimes when you take the medicine, you feel worse, but you just keep taking it.
“Some people are afraid to pray, but you have nothing to lose. Healing is not from man, but from God. We do our best, and be surprised by the work of God.”
The word built the faith of those who needed a miracle. Hundreds of people packed the stagefront when the senior pastor invited those who needed healing to go forward. Kong first called for those who are suffering from cancer, heart disease and other terminal illnesses. Tears flowed freely as the pastors and pastoral workers laid hands and prayed for the sick.
Kong continued his preaching on healing in the main service held afterwards and many others received their healing.
