Proposals suggested by accused parties to pay more income to Xtron were approved by the church board, Serina Wee testified today.
Serina Wee gave suggestions to resolve Xtron’s cash flow problems, but she did not have the authority to make approvals, she testified in court today.
The prosecution seeks to establish that actions Serina Wee took were to create the appearance that Xtron was independently run; Wee explains it was to avoid misunderstandings that Xtron was a church-related company.
On the first day of its cross-examination of Serina Wee, the prosecution sought to show that the transactions between CHC and Xtron were not at arm’s length.
Under cross-examination by co-defendant Chew Eng Han today, Serina Wee agreed that none of the accused parties made any personal gains for carrying out their duties in the Crossover Project.
Serina Wee tells the court that she loves the church and would not do anything to put it at risk.
Former finance manager Serina Wee testified today that, in line with his intention to finance the Crossover Project, Wahju Hanafi had asked her to monitor the flow of the Firna bond proceeds. The prosecution has charged the Firna bonds were sham because accused were dictating the use of bond monies.
