黄玉音24年前加入城市丰收教会，当时的她正在读大学；后来成为她先生的刘庆权也随后加入了教会。这些年来，玉音在教会里参与过招待、小组长、诗班、和声以及键盘手的服事；之后也在教会办公室担任财务经理。玉音是在城市丰收审讯中被判服刑的六人之一。在服刑的这段时间，神赐给她歌曲来敬拜祂。
